Dusty Miller blooming

Not that it's rare at all to see this annual blooming, but you don't see it to much. Plus when you do see this the plant is not in the best of shape, but this grouping is.

Simply should not be missed

Are we still so afraid to remove these wires or tape, ropes that stabilizes a tree or a palm once it gets plants. Good question would be "Do we even need this?" More on that later. So we must go back to the year of the Hurricanes that seriously created a lot of damage to many homes and there landscape.
August 13, 2004 is a day that I remember quite well and it was a very frightening time as Hurricane Charley spun pass my house as a strong category-four hurricane with sustained winds of 145-MPH and gust reaching 175! At that time I was living in Cape Coral, Fl. That hurricane clipped us and barriered down to Punta Gorda. Then hurricanes Frances, Ivan and Jeanne

The Dreaded Ganoderma Butt Rot

TRY and remove as much of the stump as possible to prevent this from happening as it's possible for the continual spread of the spores.

It's better to look up

Sometimes you just don't notice the ivories. We tend to when looking over a landscape to focus more with our head down (looking at the grass or the groundcover). It's better to look up and see how its going with the rest of the landscape.

This very large tree died due to a lightning strike.

Young Lubbers

If you can catch these guys in this young stage in their lives they are much easier to control. Hate to just spray them with a product of any kind. Better to just snatch as many as you can into a bucket and find a place where you can feed them to something like fish or birds. I think in this young stage they are a better eat versus then they are adults. Adults wilt spit at you and they change color when they grow to adults with deters predators from eating them.
